Data we collect
Analytics. This site uses Google Analytics and Google Search Console to understand how visitors find and use the site — pages visited, approximate location (country/city level), device and browser type, and how you arrived here (search, direct, referral). This is aggregate usage data; we don’t use it to identify you personally. Google’s own privacy policy governs how it processes this data: policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Security logs. This site uses Wordfence for firewall and malware protection, which logs visitor IP addresses and request patterns to detect and block malicious traffic. This data is used solely for security purposes and is not shared or sold.
Comments. Comments are currently closed on this site. If that changes in future, this policy will be updated to describe what’s collected.
Cookies
This site may set cookies from Google Analytics to distinguish visitors and sessions, and functional cookies from caching/performance plugins that don’t identify you personally. If you interact with social-share buttons (Facebook, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, etc.), those platforms may set their own cookies once you click through to them — that’s governed by their privacy policies, not this one.
Embedded content and third-party links
Articles may link to or embed content from other sites (e.g. YouTube, news sources). If you interact with that content, the third-party site’s own privacy policy applies.
Affiliate disclosure
Some posts include an Amazon Associates affiliate link to the author’s book, BE CYBER SMART. If you purchase through that link, this site may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
How long we retain data
Analytics data is retained per Google’s standard retention settings. Security logs are retained only as long as needed for threat detection. We don’t currently collect or store any data via forms, accounts, or newsletter sign-ups on this site.
Your rights as a Data Principal (India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023)
If you’re located in India, the DPDP Act gives you rights over your personal data, including the right to know what’s collected about you, to request correction or erasure, and to withdraw consent. Since this site collects only aggregate analytics and security data — not personally identifiable account or form data — most of these requests won’t apply in practice, but if you have a question or concern about how this site handles data, contact us below.

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor’s data has been collected, contact us at the email above and it will be addressed.
